Reference geometry

Learn/Editor/Reference geometry

Cut an opening with a face shape

Place a profile on a rectangle face, then cut it into the reference.

Place the profile

Choose Create > Face Shape.
Set Width and Height in the right panel.
Point at a planar rectangle face and click to place the profile.
Use Modify to move it across that face.

Shape and apply the cut

With the profile selected, open Insert settings.
Adjust Width, Height, or individual coordinates under Profile Vertices.
Use Add vertex or Remove last to change the outline. At least three vertices must remain.
Choose Cut to cut the profile into its attached reference.

Note

Profile movement is constrained to its owner’s face. Check the opening after the cut completes.
